As of December 2014, there were over 327.5 million cellphone subscribers in the U.S; this number has increased from 110 million in 2000. The CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) Republic of Korea completed a study regarding cellular radiation in February, 2016. The study was performed on two mice over the span of 11 weeks to determine if having a cellphone close to the subject would have any pathological and physical adverse effects. The study’s results exemplified that only after 11 weeks, the radiation meditated delayed hyperactivity-like behaviour, such as having shorter attention memory spans. In summary, after 11 weeks the mice developed ADHD and were unable to perform simple tasks such as walking through a maze.

Microsoft Corp. performed a study on 2000 participants, 112 having their brain activity monitored with the rest being surveyed. Since the year 2000, widely recognized as the mobile revolution, the average attention span of humans has dropped from 12 seconds to 8 seconds. Unfortunately, a gold fish has a longer attention span than 8 seconds. Although humans have become much better at multitasking, we are progressively losing our ability to maintain attention.
